Head of Marketing - HIRED

About Us

Taddy is a weboons platform built for indie creators. We give webtoon creators the benefits of being a WEBTOON & Tapas Originals creator while allowing them to remain independent. ie) creators get a platform to distribute their webtoon, keep all their IP rights, keep full creative control, and earn money from their webtoon.
 
We build 2 apps:
  • Taddy - for comic creators to upload their webtoons
  • bam! - for comic fans to read their favourite webtoons.

What we're looking for

The Head of Marketing will be the first person on our marketing team.
Right now most comic creators and comic fans don’t know we exist, let’s come up with a plan to change that.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a marketing plan to reach out to webtoon creators & fans.
  • Community building activities inside the bam! app, including curating lists of webtoons ex) “Best Supervillains Characters” & curating discussions around webtoon topics.
  • Create content to attract new users ex) analysis on great webtoons, write profiles on webtoons creator
  • Provide office hours to creators on how they can improve their webtoons.
  • Conduct market research (including surveys) to find how to can attract more comic creators
  • TikTok, IG, YouTube & other social media marketing
  • Gather and analyze data for marketing and product reports
  • Product research, design and writing

Qualifications

  • Love webtoons & have opinions on what makes good and bad webtoons (Nice to have: currently a webtoons creator, or have created a webtoon in the past)
  • Experience in marketing, business, communications, or journalism
  • Experience in editorial or strong curatorial skills
  • Understand marketing experimentation
  • Ability to do analytics for marketing reports
  • Experience with social media
  • Excellent collaboration and presentation skills
  • Organized and self-sufficient
  • Video creation & editing skills
  • Project management abilities
  • High capacity to learn quickly
  • Passionate about creator rights & working on products that promote creator rights
  • Interested in tech startups and media companies

Compensation

  • Salary commensurate with experience. Minimum $23/hour.
  • Every employee is an owner in the company.

Location

  • Preference will be given to Canadian candidates (because of the possibility of government grants)
  • This is a full-time remote or hybrid position (candidate preference). We are based out of Vancouver, Canada.

Team

Daniel Mathews - Founder. Previously, built podyssey.fm (has over 150k monthly active users). The primary developer of Taddy. This role is for working directly with Daniel Mathews.
Jae Chun Yang - Software Developer. The primary developer building the iOS and Android bam! apps.
