Content Policy

Last Modified: 2024-04-09
Welcome to Taddy! We provide a platform where users upload content to our service. We want to ensure that every creator feels free to express themselves freely. At the same time, we draw lines around a few narrowly defined but deeply important categories of content and behaviour when we believe the content is either illegal or harmful to others.

What content is allowed on Taddy:

  • Taddy celebrates creativity. We want you to express yourself freely and your content to be a reflection of that. Use Taddy as a tool to tell great stories that reflect who you are, and what you love, think, and stand for.
  • Taddy works with the Apple and Android App Stores as well as credit card companies. All these partners have terms of service that strictly prohibit certain types of nudity and extreme violence. We have written our content policy to comply with these terms of service policies.
  • Your content may contain adult or sensitive themes like sex, drugs, abuse, etc.
    • Make sure you are using the appropriate Content Rating for your content.
    • Add a Content Warning at the top of your content if you believe your content may be considered sensitive, or triggering to some individuals based on past experiences, cultural or personal values, or personal sensitivities.

What content is not allowed on Taddy:

  • Copyright or Trademark Infringement.Ā Respect the copyrights and trademarks of others. If you don’t own the content, don't upload it to Taddy. We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement as per ourĀ Terms of ServiceĀ and follow the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
  • Nudity. Don't upload images, videos, or GIFs that resemble, or could be mistaken for genitalia or breasts. Don’t upload any content that depicts sex acts. Don’t upload content including or depicting the sexualization of minors.
    • If you are depicting someone’s bare upper torso, please ensure that nipples on breasts are obscured in some way.
  • Generative AI content. Don’t upload content if it was created using generative AI tools (eg: OpenAI, Midjourney, Stable Diffusion etc).
    • You, a human, are welcome to use tools like CSP, Photoshop, and Procreate, which may include AI or ML features that help you create your comic. This term is specifically about using generative AI tools as the primary means to create content.
  • Extreme violence. While cartoonish and mild forms of violence are ok, extreme violent acts (eg: mutilation, intense gore, etc) are not permitted.
  • Harassment.Ā Don't engage in targeted abuse, bullying, or harassment. Don't engage in the unwanted sexualization or sexual harassment of others.
  • Harm to Minors.Ā Don't post or solicit content that features the abuse of a minor, that includes suggestive or sexual content involving a minor or anyone that appears to be a minor, or that facilitates or promotes child sexual abuse. Uploading child sexual abuse material is a serious crime for which we have no tolerance. We report all such instances to child protection organizations and law enforcement worldwide.
  • Hate Speech.Ā Don't encourage violence or hatred. Don't use Taddy to distribute content for the purpose of promoting or inciting the hatred of, or dehumanizing, individuals or groups based on race, ethnic or national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, age, veteran status, sexual orientation, disability or disease.
  • Promotion or Glorification of Self-Harm.Ā Don't post content that actively promotes or glorifies self-harm. This includes content that urges or encourages others to cut or injure themselves; embrace anorexia, bulimia, or other eating disorders; or commit suicide rather than, e.g., seeking counselling or treatment, or joining together in supportive conversation with those suffering or recovering from depression or other conditions. Dialogue about these behaviours is incredibly important, and online communities can be extraordinarily helpful to people struggling with these difficult conditions, but we will remove content that we believe crosses the line into active promotion or glorification of self-harm.
  • Violent Content and Threats.Ā Don't post content that includes violent threats toward individuals or groups, including threats of theft, property damage, or financial harm. Don't post content that encourages or incites violence, or glorifies acts of violence or the perpetrators.
  • Terrorism.Ā We don't tolerate content that promotes, encourages, or incites acts of terrorism. That includes content which supports or celebrates terrorist organizations, their leaders, or associated violent activities.
  • Deceptive or Fraudulent Content.Ā Don't post deceptive, misleading or fraudulent content. This includes manipulated and synthetic media without mentioning that the content has been altered (images, audio or video recording that comes from a real and valid source that has been altered in a way that changes the meaning or context of the original media).
  • Spam. Do not publish any content or carry out any activity that disrupts, interrupts, harms, or otherwise violates the integrity of this Application or another User's experience or devices. Such activities include spamming, distributing unauthorized advertisements, phishing, defrauding others, spreading malware or viruses, financial scams like ā€œget rich quickā€ and pyramid schemes etc.
  • Impersonation.Ā Don't impersonate anyone. Don't do things that may cause confusion between your content and another person, organization, or company, like pretending to be a celebrity or an elected official. While you're free to ridicule, parody, or marvel at your favourite celebrity, you can't fake that you're actually them.
  • Privacy Violations.Ā Don’t dox anyone. Don't post content that violates anyone's privacy, especially personally identifying or confidential information like credit card numbers, social security numbers, or unlisted contact information.
  • Unlawful Uses or Content.Ā Don't use Taddy to conduct illegal behaviour, like fraud or phishing. Don't use Taddy to exchange regulated drugs, substances, devices, goods, weapons or anything else designed to hurt others.

Three-Strike System for Rule-Breakers

To uphold the safety and integrity of our platform, we've implemented a three-strike system. This policy ensures that content creators have multiple opportunities to rectify violations before any drastic measures are taken against their accounts.
  1. Warning:
      • Upon the first violation, users will be issued a warning. This warning is intended to educate the user about our guidelines without imposing any immediate penalty.
      • The warning remains on record for documentation purposes. Any further violations will result in strikes.
  1. Strikes:
      • First Strike: After the initial warning, the first strike will prevent users from uploading any new content to Taddy for one week. After the week, upload privileges are restored, but the strike remains on record for 90 days.
      • Second Strike: If a second violation occurs within the 90-day window of the first strike, the user will be prohibited from uploading any content for two weeks. After the restriction, they can resume uploads, but the strikes will still remain on record for 90 days from the first infraction.
      • Third Strike: A third violation within the 90-day period will result in permanent suspension of the account. All content associated with the account may be removed, and the user may be barred from creating new accounts on Taddy in the future.
  1. Appeals:
      • If users believe their content was mistakenly identified as a violation, they can appeal any strike.
      • To initiate an appeal, users can contact us directly at [email protected]. If the appeal is accepted, the strike will be removed, and content may be restored. If the appeal is denied, the strike will remain, and the user must adhere to the imposed restrictions.
Exception for Unlawful Content:
Any account deemed to contain unlawful content will result in an immediate suspension of the account without the standard three-strike progression. Such accounts are subject to immediate termination, and relevant authorities may be notified. The safety and legality of our platform and its users are of utmost importance.

Rules for specific types of content:

  • Comics - To be categorized as a comic, the content should primarily contain drawings and illustrations. (not photos)
