Once you connect your Patreon account to Taddy, you can select which of your episodes are exclusive to just your patron backers.
Step 1: Log into Taddy
Log into Taddy — or sign up if you haven’t got an account yet — and hit “Open dashboard” in the right corner of the screen.
If you’ve already published a comic, select “More details”. This will take you to a new screen.
Step 2: Connect your Patreon account
Select “Set up exclusive content” in the next menu.
You can then log in using your Patreon credentials. This will connect your Patreon account to your Taddy Ink account. Once your account is connected Taddy Ink has the ability to verify if someone is a Patreon backer of yours.
Step 3: Create exclusive content
Once you have connected your Patreon account, you can select which of your episodes will be exclusive to Patreon backers.
In the next menu, hit the “Add a new payment rule” button.
Next, decide which of your Patreon backers can access your exclusive content.
You can restrict exclusive episodes to a specific tier or select “All paying Patreon backers” to allow all your patrons to access your content.
Next, you can decide how many episodes to make exclusive to Patreon backers. If you decide 1 like in the screenshot below, your lastest episode will always be exclusive to your Patreon backers. When you release a new episode, the previous episode will now be free for everyone and your new episode will be exclusive to your Patreon backers.
Lastly, when you upload a new episode, you have the option to pick a date that the episode is free for everyone. This gives you the option to release the episode to everyone before you upload a new episode. This is optional, and if you don’t pick a date, the episode will be exclusive until you launch a new episode.
And you’re done! You can now get paid for your comics via Patreon on Inkverse.
What readers see on Inkverse
The Patreon integration works exclusively with Inkverse (but it can work with any other comic app in the future that implements this feature).
If a reader is not a Patreon backer, they will get a message that they cannot view this content because they need to be a backer and a link to your Patreon account. If they are a backer, they will see a success message saying “Yay! As a Patreon backer, you get early access to this episode” and can read the episode.
