Hey, I'm Danny!
Seven years ago, I built Podyssey (Goodreads, but for podcasts) and really wished something like Taddy API existed at that time. I wanted to spend all my time on what made Podyssey unique, but instead I spent a lot of my dev time dealing with podcast infrastructure (crawling feeds, keeping a directory of podcasts, building a search cluster, etc.).
In 2022, I started building Taddy API, with the goal of making it easier for other developers like me to build powerful podcast apps.
Our Mission
Focus on What Makes Your App Unique
Skip the Infrastructure
We handle the technical work of crawling feeds, keeping an up-to-date directory, search and transcription pipelines so you don't have to.
Start Building Immediately
With Taddy API, you can integrate podcast data into your app in minutes, not months.
Scale Without Worry
From prototype to production, our infrastructure grows with you.
The Long-Term Vision
Building for an Open, Creator-Friendly Future
Currently, almost everyone that pays for Taddy API uses it for our Podcast API, but we also have a Webcomics API that is used by apps like Inkverse.
At Taddy, we believe in an open internet where creators own their distribution and developers can build without arbitrary restrictions. Moreover, we've seen firsthand how technology like RSS can be used to accomplish this. Our long-term goal is that Taddy API helps developers build apps around podcasts, comics, books, music, audiobooks, videos. It's an ambitious plan, but something that we are incrementally working towards.
